        Salem's Jack Welch became the youngest CEO and chairman of one of America's biggest Companies, General Electric, at the age of 45.

        Welch started with GE in 1960, and during his tenure increased the market value of the company from $12 billion to more than $280 billion.

        At this point GE was the largest corporation in the world.
