The Oldest Pear Tree in America

The Endicott Pear Tree

Approximately 375 years old

The Endicott Pear Tree, is believed to have been planted by John Endecott (spelling has changed over the years), the first governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony in a part of Salem that has since broken off and become Danvers, MA. Records indicate that the tree was planted somewhere between 1630 and 1632. The tree still bears fruit.
