      In November of 2005, Kimberly Driscoll became Salem's first female mayor, winning  by a more than 3,000-vote margin.

      A graduate of Salem State College in 1989, she has an extensive background in planning. Prior to her election she served

      as Deputy City Manager for the City of Chelsea, Massachusetts.
